Because power is proportional to the square of voltage, there is a straightforward relationship between voltage gain and power gain. For example, if the gain as a ratio of voltages is 2 (or 2:1), as a ratio of powers it would be 22 = 4 (or 4:1), assuming the voltages are applied across equal resistances.
Voltage gain from power gain:
Vout = \(\sqrt{G}\) × Vin
Where: G = power gain
